NENSA (New England Nacra Sailing Association) is all about having fun and promoting the sport of sailing through racing sweet multihulls and having entertaining social events.

NECSA (New England Catamaran Sailing Association) is the umbrella organization which manages the liability of the race organizers

Membership Status report by Chris Titcomb

current voting members in attendance: Chris Titcomb, Bob Merrick, Mike Easton, Tyler Burd, Todd Ricardi, Sandra Tartaglino, Rick Bliss, Scott Malcolm, and Blair Tolland

2011 Membership fees/ dues were set at $25, with intentions to have ability to pay and join on the website

Treasurer’s report: Chris Titcomb

- Current balance: $1743.61

- NENSA has paid the insurance for NECSA for the past three years and is expecting reimbursement over the next few weeks from CRANNE. Roton Point club has been notified and discussion on their participation in NECSA is continueing

Website updates- Mike Easton

- Mike has redone and been managing the NENSA.org website. The format allows for modification and updates from anyone with a login. He is looking for others to help with content. Contact him if interested or willing.

- CRANNE no longer has a website and would like to use the NENSA site to help reestablish

2011 Schedule: regatta Chairs and volunteer

- Learn to sail clinic- Not scheduled, although $$ benefits discussed

- Sakonnet Regatta: June 10-12 run by Mike Easton and Tripp Burd

- Hampton Beach: June 18-19 run by Blair Tolland and Chris Titcomb

- NE100: date pending, run by Sam Adelman and Brendon Scanlon

- Alter Cup Qualifier- Lipton Cup: held at Sqantum Yacht club

Promotion of events to other classes:

- Discussion held regarding promotion of events to open fleet and other existing classes in the area. Each NOR is to be published in a timely manor to promote all events

Area A/B alter cup report/ Representative:

-- Chris Titcomb is current Area A representative, Area B has a new rep- Eric Whitte. Report from Multihull council given including discussion on petition process changes and sponsor of event.

Liability Insurance:

- NECSA continues to carry liability coverage for all volunteers and regatta organizers as well as club officers. Cost of insurance is approximately $1000 per year, between 2-3 clubs. Discussion of reaching out to iceboat fleets to join NECSA made with Tripp Burd to f/u with ice boat contact.

Club equipment:

Marks- repair of one mark needs to be done. Todd Ricardi to coordinate transportation of marks from Stephan’s house to Rick Bliss’s house

Anchors and lines used belong to Rick who states they are in good working order without need of maintenance currently

Scale- Motion passed for NENSA to purchase bathroom scale for sailor weigh-ins at each regatta

Club Name

- Discussion held on current club name regarding manufacturers name NACRA in the name and if this give the impression of exclusion to other boat types. Club policy of inclusion to all beach cats discussed, potential name change was tabled for future meeting.
